in the middle
of the widow's lawn
weeping cherry |

closer this year
to the garbage can
wild sunflower |

culling figs
mother and son
speaking again |

hair of the dog —
in the mirror a trace
of autumn |

winter sunlight
a priest blesses
father's eyelids |
