HAIKU
Dana-Maria Onica
|
in the colour
of her mourning veil,
passing clouds |
|
| |
|
| |
labor pains...
the silence between lightning
and thunder |
| |
|
floating seaweeds -
the tangled tresses
of this gipsy girl |
|
| |
|
| |
smell of dawn...
the sudden urge
to see the sea |
|
|
a leaf
in the mailbox -
summer's end? |

Dana-Maria Onica is an eye doctor in Petrosani, Romania where
she lives with her husband and son. Her interest in Japanese poetry
began two years ago when she read Sei Shonagon: The Pillow Book.
Since then she has been a pilgrim on the haiku path. Her poems have
appeared in Lynx, Tinywords and Simply Haiku.
