Stephen A. Peters
beethoven's
ode to joy
the mind lifts
and the dull clouds
go away
not wanting
to go there
i know
i shouldn't
but i do
summer breeze
sidewalk cafe
reading the newspaper
a passing smile
i smile too
graveyard shift
not quite in sync with the night
and the clock overhead
thinking of other things
and tomorrow's want ads
winter solstice
among the faded photographs
in a box
tonight the loneliness
grows longer
sidewalk stranger sitting
alone along the street
something about you
deep inside me
also feels autumn's breeze
Stephen A. Peters lives in the Pacific Northwest, in Bellingham, Washington. He writes that he "enjoys the concept of less is more, simple, yet profound."
