muffins on grandmother's ledge
a goose pecks underneath

laughing awareness
in their adolescent eyes
the moon crests a hillock

interior windshield
your fingernail
etching the frost

the old man's eczema
responds to meditation

porch-swing's creak
she wills the phone to ring –
and it rings

blown headscarf in an upper bough
forgetting to remember my fear

unbelievable volume
of the heartbeat –
electro-cardiogram

hollow note of cantaloupe
he thumps for ripeness

the bronze colonel
looks down on cream-cakes
and daylilies

beyond city lights
the story stars unfold
