Beth L. Block
I would love
him forever
but for
the knife
in my back
I lock my thoughts
and hide the key
how can they be secrets
if you always
read my mind
Beth L. Block spent her professional life practicing environmental law and labor/employment law. Desiring another career that was personally fulfilling and contributed more to society, she became a high school history teacher. Block's work has been published in PemmicanPress, Identity Theory (Editor's Choice), Red Booth Review, The Dogwood Journal, Cautionarytale, Doorknobs & Bodypaint, Long Story Short, and is forthcoming in PEARL Magazine.
