lingering snow -
winter hunched
on my windowsill |

under summer stars -
a glass in my hand
holding the moon |

sudden downpour -
my daughter's paper hat
streaming down her cheeks |

| |
summer rain -
snails' cursive trails
there, not there |
|
|
autumn equinox -
even the windmill
can't catch the wind |
|

|
Moira Clark is fifty something and has been a prize-winner in the
Kumamoto International Kusamakura competition four
times. She has had haiku published in Japan and in Presence.
