| windy pier - |
|
| on my lips the taste |
|
| of sea-salt. |
|
| |
through the diamond |
| |
pattern of my window |
| in a huddle |
an ocean of stars |
| just beneath the surface |
|
| frog spawn |
|
| |
sunrise |
| |
a salmon slips through |
| staring at me |
my fingers |
| from under the bridge |

Dylan Brennan was born
in Dublin 1980. He has a BA from Trinity College and an MA in Cultural Policy
and Arts Management from U.C.D. He speaks fluent
Spanish,
Italian and English. He was Co-Editor of the Poetry Ireland Newsletter and
Assistant Editor of the Poetry Ireland Review No. 79. He was shortlisted
for the U.C.D. Literary Society Prize in 2004 and this is the first time
his haiku have been published.
