A. Dyck: Tanka
the heavy flight
of two pelicans
windborne-
for two days you have not smiled
nor reached to touch me
-- from Northwest Literary Forum, Winter 1995
a piece of the moon
is missing tonight
how empty the sound
my key turning
in the lock
-- from Tanka Splendor, 1994
the rustle
of autumn wind
trailing through reeds
some kind of longing
from out of nowhere
-- from Raw Nervz, Vol. 11, No. 4, Winter 1995-'96
in the art gallery
the light in a daisy field---
standing near you
suddenly aware
I am not breathing
moonlight
through dark pine branches---
do you feel it too
something wistful
in this cool night air?
falling into the canyon
rain
like liquid light
over the edge, my heart
and no one to catch it
-- from Lynx, Vol. X, No. 2, June 1995
